Course Description
This course is a comprehensive and practical introduction to bicycle use: maintenance, repair, the secondhand bicycle market, and safety. This course is intended for students with minimal experience–you do not need to own a bicycle or have prior knowledge to enroll. By the end of this course everyone will gain practical knowledge and hands-on skills, whether that means picking out a bike on Craigslist and riding to class for the first time, or getting more out of the bike you already own.
Instruction Methods and Structure:
-2 hr lecture per week, taught in the BicyCAL shop (located underneath GBC).
Instructors will demonstrate repairs and provide the opportunity for students to do their own hands-on work
-A short bCourses quiz will be due every week testing knowledge on the previous week’s material
-Students are welcome to come during open shop hours to volunteer or practice on their own bikes.
-First class of the Tuesday Section is 1/31, Thursday section is 2/2
No day(s) left until application deadline!
