The focus of this DeCal is to orient UC Berkeley Psychology majors to their resources within the department, as well as throughout the school. In addition, our goal is to help build skills, habits, and knowledge that will help students not only within UC Berkeley and the Psychology Department, but also outside the university.
This course will be lecture based and requires mandatory, synchronous
attendance. Group discussion will be used to help understand and reinforce ideas. Weekly assignments will be used to check for participation and understanding, as well as build skills. Activities are meant to enrich student experience and foster success in the department and beyond, while reading materials are meant to prepare students for lecture topics as well as supplement the material covered in class. There are no exams or papers, only a short reflection paper during the end of the year.
The class will meet on Tuesdays from 5 to 6 PM, and will be held virtually. The enrollment number is 23113.
