This course introduces key concepts of financial mathematics and financial instruments with an emphasis on applications in the actuarial field. It is intended to prepare students for Exam 2/FM – Financial Mathematics, which is jointly sponsored and administered by the Society of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society.

There will be weekly homework assignments, eight open book quizzes, and two exams. All homework and test questions are multiple choice and are similar to the questions one would see on the actual Exam 2/FM. Attendance is not mandatory, and the course will have a Piazza page so that students have access to worksheets, homework, and study materials.
