Water is Wet aims to explore difficulties in communicating, working, and understanding diverse perspectives across people and groups. Through design-thinking methods (frameworking and storyboarding), super fun authentic relating games, and peer-led discussion, this class encourages everyone to develop and practice techniques for navigating social conflict, communicating effectively, and understanding peers. As collaboration is incredibly valuable in both home and the workplace, being able to empathize and communicate greatly improves your professional and social quality of life.
Assignment-wise, there will be short weekly responses (roughly 100 - 300 words), as well as two projects (one alone or in pairs and one group project). Attendance and participation are vital to learning in the class. You may have up to two unexcused absences. If extenuating circumstances arise (illness, midterms, interviews, projects, mental health, etc.) please email Amy to excuse your absence.
