College Success in L&S is designed to help first year students transition to university life at Cal. This course will provide an essential foundation for success in education, as well as personal, social, and professional development. Students will be exposed to a variety of tools, in order to succeed in their first year and beyond. Emphasizing self-reflective and metacognitive learning throughout the semester, this course enables students to build a clearer picture of their own learning needs. In turn, students will make personal campus connections and gain familiarity with campus resources. As they learn to navigate the many resources at UC Berkeley, first-year students will learn ways for successful transitions into Cal, empower themselves through personal and academic development, be exposed to resources on and off campus, and learn the skills to ask for help in college.
