This course is designed for those participating in the Solar Spring Break Program with Grid Alternatives. Groups will be going to Salinas and Oakland to learn about environmental justice issues in these areas and install solar panels during Spring Break.
Although there are limited spots for the spring break trip, we encourage anyone interested in the economics, technology, and social aspects of solar energy in California, to sign up for this class!
Class attendance and participation in one group presentation at the end of the semester is mandatory for passing the class. Students can make up a late or missed day for up to two times by completing alternate assignments and attending specified Environmental Justice Speaker events.
The class is offered as 1 unit for those not in the Solar Spring Break program and 2 units for those in the Solar Spring Break program.
