This course is an introduction to the theory and practical performance of parkour to students, providing a structured and safe environment to do so. Students will be taught the history and safe execution of the sport, including progressions to the physical moves to guide in building the fundamentals of the sport.
There are weekly single page, double spaced reflections on the research and reading materials. These will ensure your interaction with the course material, readings and research, and we will often discuss the assigned material during the stretching sections of class.
This course is graded on a pass no pass basis, and therefore attendance is essential. Students are allowed one absence without question and every subsequent one must be made up at office hours. A tardy of over fifteen minutes is considered an absence.
At the end of the course, an essay and a short video demonstration will be required.
