The Medicinal Nutrition decal explores nutrition as medical therapy to prepare students for a future in healthcare and for personal development in health behaviors. Students will learn preventative nutritional medicine, culinary methods, healthy living, and scientific approaches uncovering the effects of nutrition in medicine. Students will listen to lectures, participate in projects, complete at-home assignments, and participate in discussions to obtain a p/np grade in this course.
Attendance is required, but students will be allowed excused absences. The assigned readings will be reviewed in lectures, so no stress if you aren't able to understand everything in the readings! We will have a few written assignments and students will be given alternative assignments options (e.g. cooking a healthy meal and sharing photos, recipe, and macros). The assignments are graded on effort. There is one take home quiz and one final project that is required to pass the class.
The class is graded as followed:
40% class participation, 40% assignments, 20% final project
