This course invites students to think about food culture and explore the ideas of mainstream food movements, food systems, identity, and perceptions of what we eat. This involves, but is not limited to, discussions around colonialism, whitewashing, cultural appreciation vs appropriation, and environmentalism. Students will be given the chance to share about their own food culture as well as learn from their classmates and readings.
