Each meeting will consist of a lecture (biweekly), project presentations, and a group activity. Students will also be required to read research papers in preparation for each lecture. The main lecture will be given by one of the DeCal facilitators or by a guest speaker and will cover research topics including energy storage and electric vehicles. The team presentations are 10-15 minute lectures given by project managers to explain their teams’ projects to other students. For the activities, students will split into small groups to complete tasks like building a lemon battery or discuss careers in renewable energy. Electronic copies of all readings will be provided to students at the beginning of the semester.
