This course aims to present students with an overview of effective altruism, a growing movement centered around using data-backed methods to help others in the most effective ways that we can. Effective altruism emphasizes the importance of evidence and reason in choosing charitable causes, and this course will explore the principles and implementations behind the cause. Join us in exploring complex moral questions, analyzing empirical evidence, and advancing conversations around effective altruism in our growing world.
(Starting September 8) The course meets Wednesdays, 5-6 PM in Anthro/Art Practice Building 115 with optional discussion afterwards from 6-7PM in the same room.
