Berkeley stands at the crossroads of the likes of both entrepreneurial innovation and social justice amongst many other feats. This course explores the expansive intersection between societal benefit and financial acumen.
In this course, you will attend weekly lectures on Monday 6-8PM PST where you will learn concepts such as sustainable development, the foundations of benefit corporations, becoming a strategy-add impact investor and engage in a hands-on semester project where you and your team create a social enterprise model and pitch to a panel 4-5 real investors ranging from angel, VC, PE, and social impact spaces.
Every week, you will get the opportunity to talk to, communicate with, and learn real-life experiences from guest lecturer Shayne Veramallay, Managing Partner at Carbon Holdings, in a segment at the end of weekly lectures called “Shayne’s Corner”. Learn more about Shayne here:

The value add? You will learn skills such as generating a risk matrix used in VC/PE deal analysis, prototyping, and hear from speakers in the spaces from social entrepreneurship, corporate social responsibility, private equity, and consulting.
You are allowed 2 unexcused absences! Though it is recommended that you attend all sessions, lectures will be recorded and distributed.
No day(s) left until application deadline!
