CURIE is a new program where experienced undergraduate researchers mentor undergraduates without research experience. Our DeCal will foster an understanding of how research is conducted, develop mentorship and research skills for our mentors and mentees, and build relationships within the CoC community between upperclassmen, underclassmen, graduate students, and faculty members. Mentors will be able to show mentees how research is done and help to develop essential skills such as reading literature, analyzing data, and designing experiments. Mentees will also be able to shadow their mentor in the lab.
There will be weekly general DeCal meetings with all groups, weekly meetings between mentors and mentees, and weekly mentor training meetings. Mentees can only miss 1 general meeting after notifying a mentor 24 hours in advance; mentors can only miss 1 general and 1 mentor trainer meeting after notifying a board member and their group 24 hours in advance.
All of the work done will culminate into one final paper, poster, and presentation about your group's project at the end of the semester.
No day(s) left until application deadline!
