Want to help 4th graders become engaged and excited about our parks while gaining hands-on experience teaching about the outdoors? Through President Obama’s “Every Kid In the Park” initiative, now known as "Every Kid Outdoors"local 4th grade classes from Richmond will visit Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park, including a 1 mile walk along the beautiful SF Bay Trail. UC Berkeley students will assist park rangers with teaching the students and leading the field trips.
Students can choose between Monday field trips and Tuesday field trips (9am-2pm). Transportation is not provided but a $50 stipend will be awarded upon completion of course. The majority of the course revolves around the training provided by the NPS rangers but students will also have the occasional reading and writing summary assignment. The first training will take place on February 10th so apply before then.
