Berkeley Medical Journal is a student-run medical journal that explores current biomedical, political, and ethical facets of the medical health field. This two-unit (P/NP) course is has two important goals:
1. Successful publication of exemplary articles geared toward the student body and academic community
2. Guide students as they become successful science journalists and written communicators
Articles are focused on medicine, healthcare, allied health professions, and the interface of medicine and health with the social sciences (business, law, history, sociology, cultural anthropology, etc.), as well as contemporary intersections with medical technologies and social issues. This journal reflects not only the diverse interests of our students, but also the wide breadth of perspectives of medicine and health. We welcome students of all different backgrounds!
Students will be required to write two articles and give an in-class presentation on their chosen topic(s), as well as keep up with weekly readings for class discussions.
