OVERVIEW
This course is designed to help students at Cal gain a well-rounded insight into the possible pre-health professions you can pursue as an undergrad through a survey of the health professions through lecture presentations and speakers. We plan to devote certain weeks of the semester going over the application process, professional school years, and careers of each specialty to help students gain insight into each field. We also seek to help students become successful applicants to each school through guidance through the Cal curriculum and possible extracurriculars such as research, shadowing opportunities, volunteering, mentorship, and more.

We will spend approximately two weeks per pre-health field. The pre-health fields we will be covering include Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Optometry. For the remaining weeks, we will cover Alternative Health careers as well as test prep (MCAT, DAT, OAT, GRE, PCAT, etc) Class time will be divided between lectures, guest speakers, and discussions.
