The Archery DeCal is designed to introduce basic archery skills and the archery world to beginners. We will ONLY accept those who are complete beginners to archery. If you have prior experience, then we highly recommend that you join our club instead.
Through weekly demonstrations and field practices, the students will learn proper shooting form and technique. By the end of the semester, each student should demonstrate consistent form and confident shooting abilities. Topics will include range rules, safety guidelines and the fundamentals of shooting. Students will start in the barebow discipline. They will be taught the nine basic steps to shooting and every week the instructors will check the students’ shooting form, introduce new concepts, and/or play games. Once they have a strong grasp on the basics of barebow shooting, they will be allowed to try the other divisions: compound, recurve, and traditional.
Prerequisites: A $40 equipment fee is required.
