Are you looking for a way to get engaged in your community, build your resume, & fine tune your leadership skills?
This course provides students with a background in youth mentorship and opens the door for those looking to leave a lasting impact within the Berkeley/ Oakland community and beyond. The course is comprised of several areas of emphasis, including developing good leadership skills, learning to create an engaging lesson plan (preferably science, technology, or pre-health based), and implementing that lesson plan into a classroom environment within local elementary & middle schools in the Berkeley-area. The
course is partnered with FLASH (Future Leaders in Science & Health) Mentorship, a locally run after school tutoring & student engagement organization geared towards enriching the lives of
underprivileged elementary and middle school-aged students. Bottom line, The Art of Mentorship provides one with the tools & platform necessary to become a leader & make a genuine difference within this community & beyond.
