The focus of this class will be on law in the entertainment industry, more specifically on intellectual property. General topics such as copyright, fair use, public domain, trademarks, and clearance will be introduced and discussed. The aim of this course is to provide students with an interest in entertainment, law, or both with exposure to entertainment law. The course provides both a foundational overview and introduction to entertainment law and connects concepts to real-world legal cases and applications. The course will be both lecture and discussion based(along with visual and audio examples) to engage students in the topics.
