This seminar style class will explore disasters from the perspective of Geography by analyzing them as phenomena with distinct spatial and temporal definition characteristics. We will cover both practical and theoretical concepts that will will provide a good foundation to students who are interested in the field of disaster management or related fields. Assignments will include reading, online reading discussion posts, an essay, and a group project. There will also be three in class quizzes.
