Learn about robotics for the first time or brush up on your python skills in our robotics mentoring DeCal. Our course arms students with the mechanical, electrical, coding, and leadership skills to lead a bay area robotics team to success. Students in this course will guide an underserved high school in the bay area through the engineering process of building a competition robot. This course provides a unique experience in understanding robotics for the first time or seeing robotics in a new light. Classes are a mix of of lectures, hands-on activities, and group discussions with an emphasis on the latter two.
Sections are two hours per week. Two hours of mentoring a week are required.
This DeCal is part of PiE. Pioneers in Engineering (PiE) promotes science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education through an exciting, mentorship-based process. PiE is a student outreach organization based in UC Berkeley and was founded in 2008 by members of Tau Beta Pi. We strongly believe that no student should be denied a quality STEM education experience.
