Social Identities Intergroup Dialogue is a course offering designed to provide Cal students with a space for learning about issues of difference, conflict and community through dialogue. In a culturally and socially diverse society, discussion of differences is needed to facilitate understanding of different identities.
Further, the course will provide undergraduate students deep group facilitation skills as it relates to group dynamics, dialogic communication,and conflict. Students will engage in discussions, activities, and readings centered on identity, power, privilege, oppression, and difference. Upon completion, these student facilitators will be certified to lead their own intergroup dialogue course, potentially in
Fall 2018.
