We will examine the issue as it plays out in modern-day life, emphasizing potential solutions and the individuals and organizations working to effect these changes. Topics include the caste system, religious conflict, women's rights, LGBTQ+ issues, and poverty/rural development among others.
Instruction will include a weekly guest lecture from an academic or activist with direct experience and expertise in the issue, followed by small group discussion and activities.
