The goal of this class is to expose students to the diversity of healing philosophies and therapies around the world. We invite passionate professionals from fields such as allopathy (modern western medicine), osteopathy, naturopathy, homeopathy, midwifery, Native American Medicine, acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Taoist Medicine, Ayurveda, ethnobotany, yoga, meditation, biofeedback, chiropractics, and nutrition to share their insight into the science and art of healing.
Requirements for passing class:
--Attend all lectures (maximum of 2 absences allowed)
--Do outside reading/research to be ready for the lectures**
--Attend 1 small group meeting throughout the entire semester (Note: NOT one every week, ONE during the WHOLE semester)
--Attend 2 workshops outside of class that are related to integrative medicine (ex. watch a documentary, attend a yoga class, try meditation, etc)
--Write a midterm reflection paper about your experience in the class thus far **
--Write a final reflection of the course (4-5 pg, double-spaced)
