The UC Berkeley Comparative Literature Undergraduate Journal is a peer-reviewed, international journal that publishes undergraduate research in comparative texts and media. Our published articles have treated a broad range of topics including, but not limited to, theoretical literary discourse, international trends in literature, and comparisons of at least two national literatures.
This DeCal is structured to provide time every week for necessary instruction related to the academic and practical sides of putting together an issue of the UC Berkeley Comparative Literature Undergraduate Journal. Most of the work of the DeCal therefore involves editing and evaluating submissions for the journal, which limits the enrollment to official journal staff. By the end of the semester, students will learn how to critically analyze and evaluate serious academic work in Comparative Literature, how to use Wordpress to publish a website, and how to use online resources to self-publish both print and e-book editions of a print issue.
