The Intro to iOS Development is a student-run course designed as an introduction to application programming for the iPhone and iPad. This DeCal was started by Professor Dan Garcia (now our Faculty Advisor) in 2001 as MS-DOS X, a student-run Objective-C course for OS X (and later iOS) development. Rebooted in the Fall 2015 semester, the renamed iOS DeCal now operates with the latest devices (e.g. iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch). By the end of the semester, students will have created a variety of apps (e.g. Utility, Game, Social Network) from scratch, including one entirely of their own design.
We will have two meetings a week: one lecture followed by an optional office hour (Tuesdays, 6:30-8:00pm) and one lab (Thursdays, 6:30pm) for students to work collaboratively on assigned iOS projects with instructor supervision/guidance. Attendance is required and will be taken at the start of every lecture and lab. More information on course workload and content can be found on our website (iosdecal.com).
No day(s) left until application deadline!
